![]() But the rust had survived far worse, it swam in a circle in pretend fear before flipping its jaws open suddenly and sending the creature spinning off towards the void, with the rust leviathan giving chase. The smaller creature, the arrowhead, quickly darted back, before jumping forward and digging its unnaturally-shaped head deep into the rust's skin. In one maneuver it pulled its reach from the creatures mind, reared back and lunged forward with a bite that could cleave spaceships in two. The creature had a mental defense, something only those capable of telekinesis can have, and something that seemed to always be connected with someone who could defeat the leviathan. But the rust leviathan felt something strange, something that annoyed it, angered it and somehow brought terror into that ancient, uncaring monster's skull. The rust leviathan decided to mentally deter it, with a blast of mental fury, it entered the fish's mind and felt its way through the corridors of consciousness, trying to find it's ancestral fear. The rust leviathan opened its massive jaw wide, before slamming shut with such force that silt from the seabed was sent flying far and fish sped past in the currents it had created, but still the creature did not seem to care. The rust leviathan decided to try to scare it, to see how easily it was intimidated, first another bellowing roar, which the creature seemed unfazed by, and responded with one of it's own, harsher and sharper, less bellowing and more piercing. A large mouth peeked out from beneath the arrowhead, with large eyes surveying the rust leviathan. It was over double the size of a reaper, smoothly shaped up to it's head, which was an irregular, spike-like shape, with a multitude of barbs. The creature turned, confused and the rust had to use all its control to stop itself from instinctively biting the smaller creature in half. The rust decided to alert the smaller thing of its presence, with a loud roar that shook the very ocean itself. Far behind both, humans began the long trek to follow them. The gargantuan figure of the rust leviathan followed close behind far slower, despite its streamlined shape and powerful movement. The large shape cut cleanly though the water, despite its rough-edged head. The other guards followed the alpha, instinctively. The lead guard, a slightly wiser man by the name of Giles, realized that it would probably be quicker to be killed by a giant fish than by Mr Western, and he hopped into a large, modified submarine. The guards didn't see the irony however, they weren't paid to think, they were paid to do their job, and now they had failed. It was supposed to be a weapon, and a friend, but now it was just another dangerous fish to look out for. This mutation was ceaselessly tended to, kept safe and trained to be as powerful, strong, smart and speedy as the creatures that made up its patchwork DNA. The gargantuan skeleton's samples had been carefully harvested, collected, examined and experimented on, then combined with other creatures until a living mutation could be born. On the surface, a group of agents rushed out and watched as years of work swam off into the depths. He felt again, and clearly, almost like he was seeing it, the shape of a creature only slightly smaller than him pushed off through the dark water, toward the void. However, it seemed to be abandoned, so he decided to leave it standing. ![]() ![]() Below was a smaller, smoother and completely stealthed base, that the leviathan had only recently noticed. Above were large, hulking, rough-cut things with huge tanks for capturing any creature and such shear amounts of scientists, guards and soldiers that even the leviathan thought better than to attack. It shouted, and its old, almost non-existent echolocation told it that it was under the mountain, where the bases were. There was something moving, above it by some distance, huge and furious. The leviathan looked up, sensing the water's subtle vibrations with its many, entangling tendrils and sending dark, rusted mist into the waters around it.
